2019 #1 - Y2K WAS REAL, WE’RE LIVING IN A SIMULATION!!
Reflecting on 2018, things seemed dismal on the geopolitical front, which brought awareness to how much I took for granted in years past. I think an understanding of how social media has affected the nation’s psychology is important in navigating these confusing times. I also think it takes great personal effort to identify and address our relationship with our technology. There are no easy personal solutions. Let me tell you a little of what I did at my place.
I love my new apartment. I’m really proud of designing a space to prevent me from indulging my worst habits. I don’t have a TV (but somehow still watch too much TV). I have a small desktop computer connected to an extra-wide monitor, no laptop. My router is set up to block all social media sites. I’ve actually started to feel better about my screen usage. More deliberate and less mind-numbing.
And I use google assistant to control the lights with my voice LIKE A GOD.
